Strengthening the Orono Community
The Orono Public Library Foundation is committed to strengthening the Orono community and enhancing the quality of life for all Orono citizens
About the Foundation
The Orono Public Library Foundation was established in 2002 to build a free-standing public library for the town of Orono and to provide for the library’s ongoing support. The Foundation is committed to strengthening the Orono community and enhancing the quality of life for all Orono’s citizens.
“The library has become the heart of our community. Thanks to an exceptionally gracious and knowledgeable staff, generous donors, speakers, and volunteers, you circulate extensive, varied resources among patrons of all ages and interests. You enrich our personal lives and enliven our social and civic networks.”
Past Projects of the Foundation
Campaign for the Library
The Orono Public Library Foundation was founded in 2002 and successfully led the $2.1 million capital campaign to fund the new library, which opened on Pine Street in 2009.
Orono Village Green Campaign
Donors contributed $345,000 to support the project to transform the area directly behind the Orono Public Library into the Orono Village Green.
Ways to Give
A gift of cash is the easiest way to donate and support the growth of the
Orono Public Library.
A gift of appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds offers a substantial tax advantage for the donor.
Planned or Deferred Gifts
A bequest allows you to maintain control over your estate while knowing your gift will benefit the Orono community.
